Our Partnership
Haven Veterinary Practice is proud to share the news we are now part of a new veterinary led group, called VetThing. We would like to take this opportunity to explain what this means for you and your pets.
We remain independently run, with full responsibility for our clinical decisions, services, and pricing. Our name, identity, and values remain exactly the same.
What matters most, is that nothing has changed in how we care for you and your pet. You’ll still see the same familiar faces and receive the same personal, locally focused care you’ve always known and trusted.
The team will continue to be led by our principal vet, Neil.
The partnership operates primarily behind the scenes, supporting the clinic’s long-term development without changing how we work or what we stand for.
It also enables continued investment in our team, our facilities, and the care we provide – strengthening our ability to deliver the highest standards of treatment for your pet, both now and in the future.
FAQS: Your questions about our partnership with VetThing
We know that news like this can raise questions. What matters most to us is that you feel informed, comfortable and reassured about what this means for you and your pet.
What stays the same
Will anything change for me or my pet?
No. You will see the same familiar team, receive the same high level of care, and experience you know and trust.
Will the team stay the same?
Yes. Continuity of care is incredibly important to us, and we will always do our very best to ensure you see the people who know you and your pet best.
Are you still independent?
We have joined a vet-led group called VetThing, but we remain independently managed and locally run. We continue to make our own decisions about our team, our services, our pricing, and most importantly, how we care for your pet.
Will your standards of care change?
Not at all. We continue to take full responsibility for all clinical decisions, treatments, and the way we care for your pet.
Will you still choose your own treatments and medicines?
Yes. Treatment plans, medications, prescriptions, and follow-up care remain our responsibility, just as they always have.
Why we’ve done this
Why are you sharing this with me?
We believe in being open and transparent with our clients. This is a positive step for the practice, and we wanted you to hear about it directly from us, with clarity and reassurance.
Why did you decide to partner with VetThing?
This partnership allows us to be part of a unique vet-led group. It provides us with the resources to further develop our facilities, equipment, and services over time, without compromising how we work or what we stand for, as we will preserve our independence.
Are you becoming like the big corporate chains?
No, traditional corporates are controlled by external investors. VetThing is majority owned by the vets who work within it and we keep full decision-making at practice level. VetThing’s ethos is to embrace uniqueness and support practices like ours, not change them.
How the practice is run
What about ongoing treatment, insurance or prescriptions?
These will continue to be managed by our team here at Haven Vets, just as they are now. We remain fully responsible for treatment plans, medications, prescriptions, and follow-up care, ensuring complete continuity for your pet.
Will you be told what to do by a head office?
No. Maintaining our independence was a key part of our decision to partner with VetThing. We will continue to run the practice in the way we believe is right for our patients and clients.
Are your prices going to change?
No – we will continue to set our own pricing, based on what we believe is fair and sustainable. As always, we will communicate any price changes to you transparently as we have in the past.
